Standard Height Continuous Miner commissioned by the UG Mining team flagged off at Kumardih-B mine

A Standard Height Continuous Miner (SHCM), commissioned by the Gainwell Underground Mining team has been flagged off at Kumardih-B underground mine in West Bengal on 10th January 2021. Kumardih-B is a fully owned subsidiary of Coal India Limited and is Gainwell’s fourth project in underground mining.

The Underground Mining team had bagged this project from Eastern Coalfields Limited with a 9-year coal extraction contract. The scope of work includes targeted coal production of 5,10,000 tonnes/year (without blasting) with a total coal production target of 45,90,000 tonnes. 1 set of each of Continuous Miner, Roof Bolter, Feeder Breaker, Load Centre and Load Haul Dump along with 2 sets of Shuttle Cars will be commissioned at the site.
